Rising Stars
Maya Fear, Conrad Spencer

In previous years we have presented a concert featuring winners of the Windsor and Maidenhead Symphony Orchestra's Young Musicians Competition. These have included Martin James Bartlett (piano) who went on to win BBC Young Musician 2014, and Euan Miller (oboe) who was a finalist in this year's BBC Young Musician Competition, having won the Woodwind class.

This year our Rising Stars are Maya Fear (violin), Berkshire Young Musician 2019, and Conrad Spencer (bassoon).
​
We are delighted to present these two brilliant young stars of the future in a concert showcasing their talents.
Conrad Spencer - bassoon
​
Conrad is a member of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain. He won the Joy Day Trophy for "most promising young musician" at the Reading Symphony Orchestra Young Musician Competition 2020.
​
Conrad will be accompanied by Anita D’Attellis (piano).

Maya Fear - violin
​
Maya has been playing violin for about 13 years now. She has taken part in a variety of performance opportunities as both a solo performer and as member of an orchestra over the years , and loves being able to convey her feelings through music. As well as the violin, Maya plays the piano and takes singing lessons, and also enjoys playing in a band.
She is currently studying maths, music and physics at A-level at Queen Anne's School, Caversham, and plans to study music at university next year.
